J&L was formed in January, 1990, as a California Corporation, by Donald R. Johnsen, President and Mike LaMont, Vice President. While corporate ownership and operations management remains the same today, the staff and client list has grown impressively. Officer’s Bios

Don Johnsen, President and co-founder of J&L teamworks began his career in the collection industry in 1971 as a Manager Trainee for the largest collection agency in the country. Working in the operations area, he quickly progressed and in 1980 landed the Director’s position of one of the company’s largest collection centers on the West Coast. His 15 years of Operational experience and success was recognized as a prized asset and in 1985 he was redirected into Marketing. Known for his industry expertise by many satisfied clients, he quickly progressed to the position of West Coast Regional Marketing Manager overseeing the marketing efforts of the west coast sales force throughout the western states and B.C. Canada, Don has been asked to conduct many collection training seminars and has consulted throughout the United States and Western Canada. Don is widely known as a leader in the industry. In 1990 his talent and experience was redirected for a final time when he teamed up with his friend and co-worker Mike LaMont. Together in 1990 they formed J&L.

Mike LaMont, Vice President and co-founder of J&L teamworks, also began his career in the collection industry in 1980 as a Manager Trainee for the same company. A promotional transfer in 1982 to San Francisco is where he and Don began to work together. With Don as the Director and Mike as the Collection Manager, they created one of the most successful regional collection centers for the company. In 1985, because of his in-depth understanding of medical receivables and the respect of his healthcare clients, Mike was recruited to take over the Inpatient Accounts Manager’s position at one of the largest non-profit hospitals in San Francisco. With the successful experiences of collections operations and hospital business office operations under his belt, Mike again teamed up with his friend and co-worker Don Johnsen. Together in 1990 they formed J&L.
